Comedian Dave Chappelle will play the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium on Feb. 6, according to an announcement this morning by the U.S. Cellular Center. Tickets go on sale Friday.

Chappelle, a stand-up comedian from Washington, D.C., starred in a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central. Chappelle’s Show” aired from 2003 to 2006 on Comedy Central. He’s been in a number of films, including Robin Hood: Men in Tights and The Nutty Professor. And he’s headlined his own big tours.

Chappelle signed a deal last year to create three comedy specials for the streaming online service Netflix. The specials will include previously unreleased performances produced at the Austin City Limits studio and the Hollywood Palladium, according to the New York Daily News.

Wow . . . for such expensive tickets, those sold out INCREDIBLY fast. I was on the web site immediately, and by 12:01 it was already saying none available, even if you were only requesting a single ticket. Hope that most of them were purchased by actual people rather than brokers and speculators!
