My friend Chef Alex Bax of Feta Flav food truck stopped by casa Stu this morning, bearing gifts for me, including his house made Greek dressing, hummus, and tzatziki, plus a full line of his spices! The spice pack with no label (also shown in a spoon) is a blend that he wants to name after me! ? Wow, what an honor! ? I’m going to try it out on various meats and such this week and give him my feedback before he puts a label on it, and makes it available to the public. Exciting!!! I ain’t even tasted it yet, but it smells awesome! I’ll keep you posted. OH! AND! Feta Flav is gonna park at my food pod at least once a week once it’s ready! We punched it in. Look for the food pod to come together over the next months for a 2022 launch. ? Thanks, Chef Bax! ?

UPDATE: The tzatziki and hummus are awesome, and so is the spice blend that Chef Bax made for me. I’ve tired it on eggs and a bacon egg and cheese sando so far, and it was GREAT. I bought some high quality hot dogs to try it as a sprinkle, and I also bought some steak, so that I can try Chef’s other spices. I have a LOT of spices to try!

Dawn and I went to Session Cafe at Citizen Vinyl for a drink and a snack yesterday. Dawn got a great cocktail that she enjoyed very much, and I got an N/A drink called a hibiscus orange spritz that was awesome! I got myself a small brisket & cabbage hand pie, and coffee cake, Dawn got a chia cup with fruit and nuts. The food at Session is great, the atmosphere is mellow and bright, and the people working there are the best. If you ain’t been, git on down. ❤️❤️❤️

it was coincidence that Dawn and I ordered drinks that LOOK exactly the same, but her drink — the taller of the two — was a cocktail.

We enjoyed some pizza from Grata Pizzeria last night. One that had a variety of delicious mushrooms, and the other was a Soppressata pizza with jalapeños. Both were very tasty!

Last night we had theee best chicken wings from Silver Cousler’s “Neng Jr’s” pop-up at the Double Crown last night. Silver told us that their brick and mortar should be open as soon as October! Can’t wait!

Today I went on an early morning adventure. My friend Scott picked me up in his car, and we drove out to Candler, where we bought some pupusas, from a very nice person named Ruthie, who was selling them to raise money for Asheville en Español / BeLoved Asheville to provide some relief to those is the Latinx community who have been effected by the recent floods. We sat in her kitchen and ate them hot off the griddle, and then we took a ton home. Thanks, Scott, thanks Ruthie!

Dawn and I went to Vivian last night, just for drinks and snacks. This was our first time back inside one of our all time favorite places, and it was so great to see our friends Shannon and Chef Josiah, and taste the tastes and feel the vibes. Vivian is my one and only two-time “Restaurant of the Year” winner, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My mom and I went to Nachos and Beer in Reynolds Community, where I had an enchilada trio and we split a flan. My mom had her fave shrimp wrap (not pictured) and we were both full, happy, and satisfied! Nachos and Beer never lets us down.

Y’all. I decided to start My Epic Delivery Journey with 2 prerolls from Asheville Craft Cannabis and 3 pieces of cake from Old Europe Pastries. The prerolls are CBD, and they came in GLASS tubes! There’s so much plastic waste in the preroll industry, it was a welcome change to see glass tubes and cork stoppers. They also came with a wee little nug of the CBD weed, so you can see it I guess. I smoked it. The cakes were vanilla cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, and some of the best key lime pie in Asheville! All three cakes were delicious, and delivered intact and on time by our friends at Kickbackavl! One day I’ll be able to get some dang THC prerolls delivered with my cake, right? ??

You can see more words and pictures, and follow My Epic Delivery Journey on my own blog, Stu Helm: Food Fan.
