The image of twisting, multi-colored lights is just one that remains with me after a couple of floats in the big, dark tank at Still Point Wellness in Asheville. Hanging on to the images – whether I really discern their meaning or not – is part of the lasting relaxation of the experience.
Another image, an almost opposite one, has also remained with me. It’s that of a massive, black orb. Not an eye exactly. And not scary, either. Just a round, shiny object of massive darkness. A sensation also sticks with me following the float. One is a feeling of being held close. Again, it’s the opposite of what I expected going in, which was a feeling of severe alone-ness.
The images and sensations, no matter what they mean, have left a feeling of peace and calm. It’s a foundation I can build on, whether I’m quiet and relaxed or up and moving.
I am so incredibly thankful that the forward thinking folks at Still Point have brought this to Asheville. I have taken part in the floatation 3x now. Each time I have left with a sense of peace and contentment. The manager, Corey, has been great at gently helping me continue to go deeper into the experience. Thank you Still Point!
This float tank experience is not to be missed. I have floated several times and find that I go deeper each time..
