From the video’s creator:

It turns out that one of the most popular ideas about sand mandalas is a misconception – the main point of creating a sand mandala is NOT to highlight impermanence – the documentary will share the monks perspectives who built this mandala.

This mandala was built in Asheville, North Carolina, over the course of 5 days at Urban Dharma (www.UDharmaNC.com). On July 22nd, only two days after it was completed, the mandala was deconstructed, and the sand was poured into the French Broad River as an offering to the world.

Stay tuned for the documentary and longer, more meditative time-lapse that will come soon! 🙂

Thank you!
