Here’s Healthy State, Mission Health’s entry in the health insurance field

More information is coming in about Mission Health’s plan to offer its own health insurance in the wake of yesterday’s announcement that Mission Health was at an impasse with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Since the start of the year, Mission Health has been approaching employers with its own plan, called Healthy State, sources tell me. The effort is led by Marc Malloy, who has been heading up a network of Mission providers called Mission Health Partners.

Mission Health Partners is what’s known as an accountable care organization, an entity encouraged by the Affordable Care Act.
