farm_and_sparrow_2013Asheville, the city that list-makers love to list, go no less than three mentions in a flurry yesterday. Here’s the quick look:

Food & Wine’s list of World’s Best Bakeries: Writer Emily Thelin reports that she saw the bread on the Farm & Sparrow’s website, and she can tell it’s awesome. She notes it is made with locally grown wheat. She says “That’s a place I want to visit.” Not exactly a ringing endorsement. But, yay! We made a Food & Wine list!

Conde Nast Traveler’s list of The Friendliest and Unfriendliest Cities in the U.S.: Asheville is on the list of friendlies, with other cities like Jackson, Mississippi, and Austin, Texas.

Visitors insist that above all, it’s the “conscientious locals” who truly make this “welcoming” metropolis a “fun, quirky place to visit.”

-Estately.com’s 17 Best U.S. Cities for Hippies: Asheville comes in #3, with Eugene Oregon tops. Estately “used a formula based on marijuana availability and legality, number of stores selling hemp, local counter-culture icons, tie-dye availability, hippie festivals, progressives in government, intensity of Occupy protests, and a Facebook poll” to determine their ranking.

She saw a picture of the bread and could tell that it’s awesome? Good grief.
