PUKE POP-UP AT THE ODDITORIUM

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on 11/03/2021

??? Y’all… Last night’s PUKE pop-up at The Odditorium was AWESOME!!! I got the Barf Burger & Gut Bomb Burrito and both were TASTY AS FUCK!!! The Barf Burger patty was battered and deep fried, which made it crispy-crunchy as can be, then covered in a very thick and savory white gravy. It’s an instant contender for my ?? Burger of the Year award!!! ?? The Gut Bomb Burrito was likewise delicious! It was giant-sized, for one thing, and chock-full of incredibly satisfying “taco night” flavors, and crunchy Fritos! Goll dang! This is some serious stoner food. I loved it!!! I’ll be back NEXT TUESDAY, when I’ll try the Eggplant Parma-Shawn, which I heard people raving about! I hope y’all had a chance to try it last night, and if not, you have three more Tuesdays this month to get on over to West Asheville for this very special Puke Pop-up!!! ???

CULTURA

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on 11/01/2021

Who’s got the best N/A beverages / mocktails in Asheville? I enjoyed this parade of potables from the bar during a super fancy dinner at Cultura last week. Each one of these was totally delicious, refreshing, fun, exciting, and paired perfectly with the dishes they came with. Maybe we can start an N/A club or something? Who’s got your faves?

ADVENTURE DINING: THE VILLAGE PORCH

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on 10/26/2021

ADVENTURE DINING! With Rick and Stu! We took a very spooky road trip (we got lost) to Reynold’s Village to check out The Village Porch, and wow! So much food! So tasty! We both loved it! We gorged ourselves on fried cauliflower, a soft pretzel, chicken wings, tater tots, honion rangs, a porch burger and a pimento burger. We. Were. Stuffed. Thanks to our hosts at The Village Porch, especially our server, Jennifer, who reached out to me with such a wildly enthusiastic invitation, I couldn’t say no, and I’m glad I didn’t! High recommends for this pub-style eatery, and everything you see in these pictures! Also: plenty of parking.

Sorry these pictures aren’t that great. I left my dang glasses at home. Not even kidding. Rick had to literally read the menu to me! LOL

FETA FLAV FOOD TRUCK AT KELLER-WILLIAMS

Originally posted to Stu Helm: Food Fan Facebook page on  10/26/2021

Y’all… whenever I see my friend Chef Bax, I end up walking away laden with food! (Not a complaint!) I went to visit his Feta Flav food truck today, which was parked at a “Tasty Tuesday” hosted by Keller Williams Elite Realty on Asheland Ave. It’s a thing they started for their staff in 2020, and have continued until today, which happened to be the last one. I met Corrine Mandell, from Keller Williams, who started the whole thing, and she was kind enough to pose for me with her gyro. I told Chef Bax that I was going to share my lunch with my mom, so of course he sent me off with enough food for a family of six! LOL! I ate an entire chicken Gyro, and took bites of everything else, and will be eating this food for days. And yes I shared it with my mom, and we both loved it! All of the food was excellent, Chef Bax is truly one of the best in town, I have been a fan for years. The mushroom Gyro was notable, because my expectations were kind of low. But the seasoning on the shrooms was super delicious! So, veggie people, here’s your best gyro ever. Thanks Chef! And thanks Corrine and Keller-Williams, for letting me crash your party! I know I look like the Unibomber, but I come in peace, and seek only food. ?
