Perhaps if you want to go to the trouble of creating a professional video, you could at least get the order of events correct.
Hint: It is Swim, Bike Run, not Bike, Run, Swim.
I agree that Ironman events would draw huge amounts of money into the local economy. As a two-time Ironman, I know what I spend in the local economies while I am travelling to compete. Anyway, I think the video just comes across as a desperate plea for someone (anyone)to notice you.
Ummmm… Mayor Bellamy – you have massive runs in your stockings – probably as close to running as Gantt gets….. that was bad 🙁
There really is no place to train for swimming here. That is all.
AVL is beyond needing “publicity” …
You sure about that? The state legislature has made it their life’s mission to kill Asheville, or at the very least beat it into submission and economic recession. Asheville needs all the help it can get to survive in the face of an openly hostile state government, let alone grow and possibly even somewhat thrive in that kind of political climate.
How much will this event cost the taxpayers of AVL … the Council claims serious budget shortfalls.
How much more money will the publicity bring in? Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.
Might this event make money for the city and local businesses?
