What the hell difference does it make if someone needs to temporarily park their car along the side of an unused, overgrown, piece of crap, flood prone and soon to be overpriced lot that has been used for that purpose for years. The signs just piss everyone off because some greedy bastard is going to make a killing and is trying to make a point. Just like the ass hole with the Carrier park sliver of land. Do they really need to put signs up every 8 feet????? Do they think someone is going to stub their toe on a rock and sue them??? What the hell is happening to Asheville? Its just not the same place I moved to years ago. And I hate to get started on the US Cellular center…
It’s called property rights Miguel. They own it and can do what they want with it. Get the chip off your shoulder. You’re not poor because someone else is wealthy.
Well said Scott. Asheville is no different then any other hip town. As the population grows so will Asheville like it or not. You could always move to Brevard, NC Miguel, or better yet Rosman, NC. I guarantee Rosman will have free parking for a long time. BUT, if you trespass there I have a feeling them folk won’t give you a warning. LOL
Is this the same 12 Bones that puts up ‘no parking’ signs during the concert series. Note they are closed during that time. It disappointed me when I saw that.

It’s great they offer these sessions. I hope they are given by an actual artist that went from starving to success, not from trust fund to success. You see a lot of trust fund artist in Asheville.
It’s their property, and they don’t want you parking on it. It’s not “gentrification”, it’s an exercise of property rights. Do you want me parking on your property without your permission just ’cause I want to?
Twelve Bones- not their neighbor- is responsible for providing adequate parking for their customers. Until the restaurant can figure it out, ride your bike down to Twelve Bones, car pool, or take the bus. Too many cars is the real root of the problem anyway.

Welcome to gentrification at its worst.
The ice house in talks for sale with offers lined up behind it, the wedge owners are out for artist blood, there is little affordable creative space available at prices that allow artists to take risks and still afford to live, not to mention affordable living – will it still be called (or have the right to) the river arts district in a decade? Property is being turned over quickly or profit and development, taxes will go up forcing the young rising artists out due to building owners raising rents or selling out. My ten year vision: Welcome to Assville, where the only artists are Jonas Gerard and old lady potters & weavers.
LOL, well said. But a lot of these young/new artist are to busy being artist and not business people. To be an artist you must also be a salesman and a clever business person otherwise you will always be a starving artist.
Definitely saw this the other day and was wondering why.
Can’t wait to hear from all the folks who don’t believe in property rights to start crying foul and screaming for emminent domain so they can park at 12 Bones.
