So, what do you miss the most now that WLOS is off the air in thousands of homes in Western North Carolina? A couple of you have said you miss Bob Cobweb sniffing squirrel scat on tree stumps. But here’s what loyal reader Ron of H’ville says:

For me, the best part of WLOS’ newscasts was always the end. You know, when they finally stopped talking.
In all seriousness, I’ve spent much of the week writing to Mediacom, Sinclair, WLOS, the FCC and ABC. From Mediacom, I’ve asked that they refund a significant portion of their monthly fees becaause of their failure to provide a promised service, c.f.,the only local programming in this market. Mediacom flatly refused to do so. To the other parties I’ve complained about the irresponsibility of Sinclair’s “scorched earth” negotiating approach. I suggest that any other people who are affected by Sinclair’s decison to write or call the major players. Contact them as often as you can. Let them know you’re pissed.

Btw, for all you folks who couldn’t watch the Tar Heels against Virginia Wednesday night on WMYA, the Tar Heels kicked butt after a close first half. The Tar Heels are No. 1 in the nation, baby. Go Heels!
