Screen shot 2013-02-13 at 6.00.07 PMFrom the West Asheville Watch blog. The shooting happened a couple of weeks ago and forced a work stoppage at the Craven Street site, where New Belgium Brewing plans to build a $175 million brewery:

According to a police report obtained by WAW, a bullet or bullets struck the door of the ex-Bell’s Mini Storage office trailer on Jan. 30 around 5 p.m.

At the time of the incident one of the workers, Larry Cable was looking out an adjacent window and heard the bullet strike the door. Mr. Cable was not injured and made the police report that evening.

Since then, work had been halted, but appears to have resumed in the past couple of days.

APD was not able to determine the source of the shot or recover a bullet. A police source, speaking off the record for background said it could have even been an air gun.

At this time, the investigation continues.
