The best kept secret for a great dining out experience in Ashvegas is AB-Tech. Yes. Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.

How can this be? you ask.

Let us tell you. As you may know, AB-Tech has a kick-ass, award-winning hospitality program. Every fall, as part of that program, there’s a great lunch and dinner buffet offered up by the students to give them real-world experience in serving a great meal. The buffets include everything from soup to side dishes, entrees and amazing, amazing desserts.

Every spring semester, there’s an express lunch menu that’s offered, as well as a classic dinner, a five-course meal with really fine food and wine.

You really need to go and check it out. Don’t be afraid to expand your palate and try new dishes. Then tell the students what you think about it all. They really crave the feedback because they’re there to learn.

The meals are served in the Magnolia Building on campus, and it’s really a pretty nice little setting. This program has been going on for years at AB-Tech, and shame on you if you’ve never given it a try.
