CarpenterAsheville’s mentions in the 2013 Grammy awards this year include a nod to local band Steep Canyon Rangers (and their sometime collaborator, part-time Brevardian Steve Martin); a nomination for the Zac Brown Band’s Uncaged, recorded in Asheville and nominated for Best Country Album; and the Avett Brothers’ The Carpenter, also recorded in Asheville, up for Best Americana Album.

Downtown recording studio Echo Mountain will be supporting Asheville’s nominations with a free Grammy-watching party in the back room of the LAB this Sunday.

More here from Asheville Scene:

Echo Mountain will host a Grammy-watching party in the back room of the Lexington Avenue Brewery (39 N. Lexington Ave.) this Sunday from 8-11 p.m. The studio is partnering with Troy & Sons Moonshine and others on the event, so there will be drink specials and hors d’ouevres, said Echo studio manager Jessica Tomasin. The event is free and open to the public.
