Plane crash, nobody hurt
Kassandra “Special K” Pride brought us what WLOSers hyped as a “miracle” survival story Saturday – a family flying in their Beechcraft from Ohio to Florida crashed into a mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was foggy. The crash site was at Potato Knob Gap, according to Special K.

Special K said the family of four or five (she never said) walked away from the site after rescurers found them. Here’s how Kassandra put it: “Parts of the plane detached, but the family remained intact.” Yeah. Ugh. Give me an effing break.

A family member radioed GPS coordinates and that led Jeff Justice and his crew from the Reems Creek Fire Department to the rescue. (On a sidenote, we’re pretty sure WLOSers flashed a graphic that said Justice was of the Brimscreek fire department. Just another sign that the teevee station folk have no clue about what they’re doing.)

Pride at 6 said the family was going to some sort of acting audtion or something, but at 11 she said they were going to a convention. Who knows.

In other news…
Police in Murphy are looking for the person who robbed the BB&T there Friday and left out with a blue bag of cash… Police caught a robbery suspect near the Biltmore Estate Saturday morning. They cornered him in a bamboo thicket, then sicced a police dog on him… If you booze it this New Year’s Eve, state troopers say you’ll lose it… Happy Kwanzaa! A few people got together at the YMI Cultural Center to celebrate… And people are cleaning out those closets and giving those unwanted Christmas presents to Goodwill in a last-minute rush to get a little tax deduction.

K-Pride’s story sucked. No emotion, no real detail. Video was good, but she obviously didn’t look at it.
