Smashbox, new pan-Latin food truck, shares its menu

We just posted about Smashbox, the coming-soon pan-Latin food truck that’s planned to debut later this month. It’s just posted its menu. Have a look!

Platos Principales

Shrimp Se-VEE-chay 
Our ceviche is prepared using fresh shrimp combined with chopped onion, green bell pepper, tomatoes, and chiles, then marinated in citrus juices until cooked. Topped with cilantro lime-sugar popcorn.

The Nicapio
Gallo pinto (Nicaraguan rice and beans), fresh crema, fried sweet plantains (Maduros), and Nica slaw are combined with grilled chicken and wrapped in a flour tortilla. Served with a side of black bean salsa and plantain chips.

The Nicachu
Gallo pinto (Nicaraguan rice and beans), fresh crema, fried plantains (maduros), and Nica slaw are combined with grilled churrasco steak and wrapped in a flour tortilla. Served with a side of black bean salsa and plantain chips.

The Nicaveg (v)
Gallo pinto (Nicaraguan rice and beans), Fresh crema, fried plantains (maduros), and Nica slaw are combined with queso frito (fried cheese) and wrapped in a flour tortilla. Served with a side of Black Bean Salsa and plantain chips.

Messin’ with Texas Chili
Ground turkey, diced tomatoes, dark red kidney beans, northern beans, fresh sweet corn and peas are cooked low and slow until the flavors are well married. Topped with fresh cheddar, cilantro, green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.

SmashMex Tortilla Soup (v)
Classic TexMex flavors of cumin, coriander, cilantro, and fresh corn tortillas create an incredible combination of flavors in this soulful soup. Topped with homemade tortilla chips, fresh cheddar cheese, and a dollop of sour cream. Add shredded chicken to take it to another level.

Tostones Terán (v)
Three pan-fried tostones (sliced green plaintains) topped with refried beans, housemade jalapeño crema, Nica slaw, and cotija cheese. Your choice of grilled chicken, churrasco steak, or queso frito. Topped with a sprinkle of cilantro-lime salt. Served with a side of black bean salsa and plantain chips.

‘Bello Rico (v)
A Portobello mushroom is filled with refried beans, maduros, and chimichurri sauce, then topped with Monterey Jack cheese and grilled until melted. Finished with Nica slaw and a sprinkle of cilantro-lime salt. Served with a side of black bean salsa and plantain chips.

Del Sur Fish Tacos
Pan-fried tilapia, Nestor’s secret sauce, fresh lemon juice are served in a flour tortilla and topped with a special topping of red cabbage, cilantro, green onions, and jalapeños. Two tacos per order. Served with a side of black bean salsa and plantain chips.
