La Dalle Avec du Rouge à Lèvres
Hotel Ashvegas
I can think of several names that are meaningful to our town
The Hotel Independence or The Asheville Independent
The Samuel Hotel for Samuel Ashe
The Wolfe Hotel for Thomas Wolfe
The Davidson Hotel for one of the first settlers.
Hotel Pisgah for our tallest mountain in the county.
For an Art Deco hotel, Ellington would be a great name.
Hotel Bellamy for our first African American Mayor.
So many good possibilities.

‘Charlotte Bouringe Hotel’, ‘Bourgeoisie B&B’, ‘McKibbon’s Monstrosity’
I like “Charlotte Bouringe.” It has the requisite misspelling you need to convey authentic old-timeyness. In all fairness though, the Indigo and Aloft are more in the Charlotte Boring architectural style — the Indigo especially what with its requisite beige. As I’m sure you’re well aware, blank beige walls are a vital component of the Charlotte Boring style.
Got news fer ya: Da Bourgeoisie owns yer ass!
Aww man, I was so looking forward to the Luther Vandross meme that was just about to kick into high gear!!!
Let’s hope the McKibbon Team comes up with something equally pretentious and non-nonsensical!
Here’s where we have all been duped.
It’s going to be an Econo lodge.
“Hotel Nuckasunnah” It’s derived from a Cherokee word.
How about the Art Vandelay…
Tall Brown Rectangle Inn.
The re-build is actually very interesting compared to the “TBR”…
hopefully the re-brand will be as well.
How about something as simple as “The Asheville.” Since it is int the center of town.
The drawing looks a lot more art deco than the Photoshop rendering. I like it.
