Marketing ploy: the Ultimate AsheCache

This is an Asheville Chamber of Commerce event. I might consider doing it if I didn’t have to buy a hotel room to participate:

The Ultimate AsheCache geocaching treasure hunt will take you on an adventure to hunt down wonderful prizes, such as original works of Asheville artists and gift certificates to local restaurants. In order to get cache details, including clues to the final coordinates, you must stay overnight at one of the nine participating area accommodations.

As a reminder, prizes are only available for the first treasure hunter that finds the cache. Prizes will be replenished each Tuesday during the duration of the program by noon. To increase your chances of winning, consider staying at one of the participating accommodations on a Monday night.

Reservations are being accepted beginning Friday April 18 for travel May 20 through June 23, 2008 ONLY. The Ultimate AsheCache runs May 20 through June 23, 2008.
