I'm sorry but I am glad she's gone. I met her once for a story, and she was a diva. Thought she was better than everyone else…
Courtney Brennan is headed to the ‘Burgh, Pittsburgh that is home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She will be the Westmoreland County Bureau reporter for WPXI – our local NBC affiliate. She is scheduled to start in April.

Yeah Biff. Nielson and the meters dissagree. WLOS, WYFF and WSPA all hammer Fox’s morning show. They’re not even in the race.
Sorry Biff, Fox Carolina is the worst news outlet in the country! They aren’t even HD! Come on! They are aweful! Honestly nobodies good, but I like to watch the two hotties on News 13.
Sad to report that the Fox News station in South Carolina beats WLOS like a borrowed mule on morning news and weather. While 13 gives you 30 seconds of the Wundergirl while the GMA crew takes a breather from their blather, Fox has solid local news reporting non-stop during that time period. They cover the major WNC stories. And the weather is much more clear, focused and accurate with professional graphics.
I agree with insider and newsgal about all of the ‘strong hatin’ going on here. Come on! News has become "info-tainment" over the years on the local, regional and national scene. That’s because the people in charge push it and the consumers who read, watch and listen to it want it. (even the ones who would never admit it). Folks who do the reporting are doing the best they can in a world of shrinking resources and other challenges. Regarding the standups along the highway, perhaps you should remember when the technology merely consisted of slides put on the screen beside the anchor reading the copy and the weather maps with the smiley face sunshine and upside down smile rainclouds. I’ll bet you long for a return to those days!
You guys want to know why this is a big story! Courtney Brennan was a good one, watch this

Denise you should watch other markets. WLOS is much better than many. You also might want to keep in mind the folks there, for the most part, do work hard. They also read this site. Perhaps you could be a little nicer.
Does it ever occur to any of you that people stay because they like living here? Also – there is nothing wrong with crews wanting to stand a safe distance away from oncoming cars!! There are a lot of issues with WLOS, no doubt – but it seems there is some strong hatin’ going on here!
Trust me, the only people being paid "poverty level wages" are the people on the production staff and the video editors.
The departure of this reporter is a non-event. WLOS has very junior and poor quality reporters and on air personalities. Even worse is they have reporters and anchors who have been there for years and never will leave. They pay them poverty level wages and the station will always be a revolving door. In general, its a very third-rate news organization. I agree, that they are lazy in that they always seem to do their live shots are the businesses along Long Shoals Rd and Biltmore Park. Asheville is a very small market for tv news, and it really shows on WLOS.
Courtney is very smart and clearly works hard on every assignment. Best of luck to her wherever she goes.
Not a big fan of WLOS newscasters, but until they pay more money they are still going to get what they have. Another thing we need is more local news and not world news. And stop doing their broad casting on the freeway outside of their studio or in some gas station parking lot.
