Press release here:

This Thursday, June 3, there will be a public meeting at Owen Middle School hosted by the State of North Carolina to present their plans for the construction of a new State VA Nursing Home off Woodland Dr. in Swannanoa.

This meeting came about at the request of Grovemont Neighbors of the VA Nursing Home who only learned about the project a few weeks ago!  The neighbors have one central goal:

Persuade the State to move the entrance for the nursing home from Woodland Dr. to Lake Eden Rd.  which is on the other side of this huge state property Doing so would prevent 5000 or more cars from traveling through their 16 ft and 18 ft wide, no-sidewalk streets.

Lake Eden Rd. is 22 ft wide and goes by no homes. Check out their web site.

ONE:  Please phone or email NC Department of Administration Secretary Moses Carey today and urge him to listen to the community and to change the VA Nursing Home entrance to Lake Eden Rd.

TWO:  Please phone or email this district’s State Representative Bruce Goforth with that same message.  He assured members of the community before the primary election that he would get it done.  He has been mostly silent and even antagonistic in the weeks since then.  He wants this project badly and needs to understand the short and long-term advantages of making the change of entrance.

4:30 — 6:00 PM   Informal drop-in, in the lobby, to review construction plans and talk with staff

6:30pm — Presentation in auditorium, followed by Question & Answer session.

I had a dream to begin my firm, however I didn’t have got enough of cash to do that. Thank God my close mate advised to utilize the loan. Thus I used the term loan and made real my old dream.
