Press release here:

Freaks & Geeks Tattoo Sideshow is hosting its second annual “Tattooing Paws for a Cause” benefit in support of Asheville Humane Society. The fundraiser will be held June 1-30 at the shop, which is located at 745 Haywood Rd. in West Asheville.

The centerpiece of the campaign is a 12-hour pet paw print tattoo and body piercing marathon from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Freaks & Geeks. During that day, patrons may choose from four paw print tattoo designs for the deeply discounted price of $40. Diamond Thieves Body Piercing owner Daron James will provide above-the-neck and belly button piercings during the daylong event for the reduced cost of $15. All clients will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Proceeds from the marathon will benefit the Humane Society, which will have a number of pets up for adoption on site during the event.

In addition, animal lovers may stop by Freaks & Geeks from noon-6 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays and noon-8 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays in June to donate pet food, treats, cat litter, leashes, bleach and blankets. For a complete list of needs, click on www.ashevillehumane.org/donate/donate-goods. Each donor will receive a $10 coupon toward a future tattoo at Freaks & Geeks.

“Tattooing Paws for a Cause” is the brainchild of Freaks & Geeks co-owner Tiffany Leach. Prior to her career as a tattooist, Leach was a veterinary technician. She’s a lifelong animal lover and a 20-year vegetarian.
