The CT reports that the parking fee is now back to $10 to park yourself outside …
the “specialty drinks” are $16 (plus service charge of 18% and taxes – and yes the service charge is taxed as well because “the house” retains part of that money) …
the final cost for 1 drink (and the experience): $30.25 …
who’s got the first round?
BTW … the hotel has also started charging their overnight guests a $25 per day “resort fee” which is not included in the room rate(s) which are around $300 a night … and don’t forget the parking!
I heard they went over budget. Popped their wad pretty quick, didn’t they? The reviews on Trip Advisor make it sound like a terrible ordeal. It is a money machine, that’s all, disguised as a ‘historic hotel’. When does the Starbucks go up in the Great Hall? I wonder how much a six pack of the Centennial beer will cost? $20? The Great Gatsby Abbey was pretty good but I couldn’t force myself to drink it anymore, reminded me of the years I pissed away working at GPI.
One bottle or draft is $8.84 (including service charge and tax) … so a six pack would be $53.16 … and don’t forget the $10 parking fee [or more if you park inside or use the valet service (tip not included)]
Anyone know why construction has come to a halt? The grove was full steam renovating and then it seems projects are at a stand still, did they run out of money . Some low quality work being done on site when girlfriend and I walked around after a glass of wine.
what arrogance!!
Does the glass come with a tube of lube?
Do they have special “centennial” parking rates as well …
$16 for a specialty cocktail? When did Grove Park Inn turn into a Carnival Cruise boat? (PS you get to keep the glass on a carnival boat as well)
