Here’s the press release:

Just a final reminder to everyone about this Saturday’s Annual 11th District Republican Convention. Like last year, it will be held in the Charles Beale Auditorium at Haywood Community College. Registration opens at 8:30 and we should have you out by no later than 1:00 pm — so we can all enjoy the beautiful weekend weather!

We have a very exciting program planned, complete with multimedia presentations, election analysis, tribute videos, some top-notch entertainment and some great speakers, including Congressman Charles Taylor and Senator Debbie Clary.

If you’ve already RSVP’d by sending back our reply card a few weeks back, let me thank you in advance. It’s helped us tremendously for planning purposes and we expect a great turnout (and for those of you who have pre-registered, your official pre-printed name tags will be available at the registration desk).

Although there is no cost to attend the convention, we are asking that you consider a small cash donation (perhaps $10 – $20) to help defray our expenses. And we’re always happy to accept more — so feel free to write us a larger check in support of our party’s many exciting efforts going forward, some of which you’ll get a preview of on Saturday.

A new day is upon us and we’re ready to meet the challenges ahead. Thank you for your continued dedication to the Republican Party and I hope to see you Saturday!

Stephen G. Duncan
District Chair

Former Congressman Charles Taylor. A great speaker? Let’s all be honest here folks. Old C.T. has obviously not been "with us" for quite a few years, if you know what I mean. Good luck sitting through that one.
