I like Fresh Market so I’m not opposed, however, as stated above there used to be one right down the street and it closed several years ago. Why re-open now with Publix going in? I truly don’t understand how a city of our size can support all these grocery stores.
The only thing I can figure is that when TFM was in Turtle Creek Shopping Ctr in the 80’s, there weren’t enough people in South Asheville at that time who were interested, or who could afford it. I lived in Arden from 1978-1993, and especially during the earlier years, it was pitiful. We had Bi-Lo, Sky City, Kmart and Burger King. I even remember when they finally built a McDonalds. This is just a guess.
Can’t wait, and very excited about all the new businesses coming to South Asheville.
Great news! There used to be a really small Fresh Market where Southeastern Sports Medicine is now at the Turtle Creek Shopping Center. It closed down in the early 2000’s. Glad to see they are coming back on Hendersonville Road!
There used to be a Fresh Market in that shopping center next to Turtle Creek …
we sure are getting our share of grocers in the AVL.
