Chase Rice of Asheville missed collecting $1 million by one vote on Sunday night’s “Survivor: Nicaragua” reality show, though finishing in second wasn’t that bad – he walked away with $100,000 for second place.

Rice had supporters and detractors among his group of fellow survivors, and the critics really beat him up during the jury meeting when the folks who had been voted off got to question Rice and the other two players who made up the final three, including eventual winner Judd “Fabio” Birza. The biggest criticism of Rice – that he was dumb and that he stabbed friends in the back.

On the CBS Early Show on Monday, here’s a bit of what Rice said:

“I would have done a whole lot differently,” Rice said, when asked if he would have used a different strategy if he could go back and start over.

“I would have done a little more chill like this guy (Birza) because that’s the way I am. But I got caught up in wanting to win so bad, I was trying to to make alliances and in the end it came back, I couldn’t get five votes. I got four votes. “Yeah I would try to do something differently to get that fifth vote. The million dollars would have been nice.”
