The Asheville Area Arts Council is moving into new digs down in the River Arts District, and it’s asking the community to help it come up with a name. From the arts council on Facebook:

A Community Arts Facility: for workshops, small-scale events, community meetings, display space for members, etc. etc… Ideas for a Name? post below!

Responses came in, and the arts council followed up with this:

The Board likes lots of these options so far – they’ve specified that we should hone in on making it arts-specific (and as inter-discipliinary as possible…..

“share” this to increase the visibility of this & collect more ideas

“like” your favorites as a vote!

Some of the names suggested so far: The Inter Disciplinary Education and Arts Center (IDEA); spAAACe (not sure about the acronym except you have the aaac part already. hmm. maybe,); Texture; Art Zone; The HeART Beat; CAFE (Community Arts Facility for Everyone); The Mark; Asheville Regional Arts House; Arts Fulcrum; and Abstract.

Check out the arts council on Facebook to make your suggestion.
