A bad day? Hmm, might have just been the humidity. I look forward to the next episode.
This dood is a joke.
mat catastrophe,
Sounds like your having a bad day. Enjoyed your comments and questions.
Please look for my response on our next show. We get about 60 to a hundred emails a week pertaining to the Carolina Stompers. And I enjoy taking on the liberals in the comment sections. Some of these emails and comments will be an addition to our show. Yours is a good one.
Ash,
Thank you for this post on your website. I don’t know you real well but your website and reporting are great. We are big fans. I know that you and some of the other Mountain Xpress reporters may not personally agree with our conservative ideas but you and the Mountain Xpress have always been professional and fair / balanced. You have always shown both sides of an issue.
The Mountain Xpress has a bigger conservative reading than they might think.
And it’s because you guy’s have a real feel for the Asheville area. Conservatives party too. And the Mountain Xpress and Ashvegas is the paper / website to go to to find out what band is at which bar on a particular night.
We conservatives get an idea of what the liberals are up to simply because they write more opinions in the Xpress than we do. Most conservatives are afraid to comment or write an opinion because they get ridiculed by the left.
That’s why it only looks like me, Mumpower, or Yelton are the only ones saying anything. Sometimes it looks like grandstanding but it is not. We each have a different style of reaching out to people to get a point across. We all can take the heat, we all love a good fight, and we all want the best for America and our local surrounding area.
In the next few weeks, watch for more conservative opinions to start showing up at the Xpress from our members for your consideration to be printed. We believe that open dialog and debate are some of the best way’s to get people out to vote in this next election.
Ashvegas is the best.
Thanks,
Chad Nesbitt
This video is so full of win, I can’t really be sure where I should start. We’ve got bad production quality (cheesy video and horrible audio, I mean seriously, buy a microphone. Do some mixing.) and bad ideas. Now, since it isn’t enough to just trash the production values (after all, should we discredit the quality of the art based on the frame it inhabits?), we must instead focus on the "ideas."
First off, we have the disconnect between Ms. California claiming she was punished for exercising her freedom of speech when she declared that homosexuals should not have a freedom she enjoys. Was she punished for expressing her views? I don’t know about that. Can you be punished by not being given something? I always thought punishment was the denial of something you had previously enjoyed. Whatever. Perhaps the judges didn’t like her evening gown. I do know that the nation itself was punished by having to endure any length of Perez Hilton’s presence. He’s a turd, but I wouldn’t begrudge him the right to find someone to later have a messy divorce with.
Next, it’s the Mumpower Update. Illegals working in America? No way! Perhaps someone should tell Messrs Mumpower and Nesbitt that the dangerous illegals like the ones pictured in his video are likely not working 40-hour weeks at the textile plants or in the fields. Deporting them and leaving behind the gangsters would, in fact, be like calling the police on the drug dealers and child molesters and then applauding as the police hauled off the innocent twin brother or raided the wrong house.
Third, does Mr. Nesbitt know that inspection stickers are not new? He acts like this tax was just created yesterday. Do I like the inspection tax? Nope. But I also don’t sign on to talk to WLOS.
Liberal democrats in NC? Um, ok. But, I wonder, how many of his beloved Republicans vote for this tax every time it comes up? You know, the ones that recognize that taxes must be levied in order to provide the basic functions of a properly organized society within the framework that we’ve devised over the last 200 years or so? And, if we can’t tax corporations and the rich in order to provide for society as a whole, who does Mr. Nesbitt think we should tax? Illegal immigrants?
Down on their luck veterans? Hmm. Probably shouldn’t have allowed the Republicans (with willing assistance from a good number of Democrats, to be sure) to destroy the social safety net over the last thirty years.
Stuff like this makes me almost sad to be leaving NC soon. Almost.
Having said all this, though, I will say that at least Mr. Nesbitt has the courage of his oddly misguided convictions to make a video. How many hits is he getting for this? And, more pointedly, will the progressives in the Greater Asheville-Buncombe area reply in kind?
Well? Are you guys making your own news shows?
