Big Biltmore Estate Easter egg hunt coming Sunday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. –  Fashion your Easter bonnet and ready your Easter basket for one of the area’s largest hunts when Biltmore hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Front Lawn of Biltmore House on Sunday, April 12.

Coinciding with Biltmore’s annual Festival of Flowers, the Easter Egg Hunt gives families a special place to enjoy the springtime rite of hunting and collecting eggs.  Children may also participate in seed plantings and see a magic show.

Three Hunts will be held throughout the day at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. and will close 15 minutes before each hunt.

Here is the schedule of activities taking place throughout the day:

On the Front Lawn

Visits with the Easter Rabbit:  9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Children’s Music and Stories:  9:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:45 p.m.

Magic Shows:  10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m.

Seed planting, coloring pages and word find games

Easter Egg Hunts:  11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. This is designed for children ages 2 through 9.  Children will need to bring their own basket.   

Inside Biltmore House

Choir performances in the Winter Garden:  11a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.

Winery

Children’s Grape Stomp:  2 to 5 p.m.

River Bend Farm

“Make and Take” crafts, Easter egg dyeing, games, baby animals:  Noon to 5 p.m.
