Friday

Downtown Books and News Turns 28! @ DBN

9 am-9 pm

Highlights: Golden Tickets will be hidden throughout the store for prizes

Live music with Shane Parish, Wes Tirey and Hidden Gate

Wild Mohicans Mardi Gras Indian Tribe @ the Double Crown

10 pm // $10 

Mardi Gras Indians celebrate with pageantry and sweet sounds. 

Saturday

Ooh La La Curiosity Market @ Pritchard Park

10 am – 4 pm

A weekly event that runs through the summer, featuring works from local vendors!

Island to Highland Reggae Showcase @ Highland Brewing

4-10 pm, with music from 6-10 

3 bands (Station Underground, Chalwa, + Redlyte, Ras Ijah Eternal Fire and the Sound Movement Band), food, and, of course, beer.

Buxton Hall Fourth of July Dance Party @ Buxton Hall BBQ

10 pm-2 am

Boozy popsicles. Slushies. Hot dogs. Dancing. $3 suggested donation. 

Sunday

Bluegrass Brunch @ Mojo Kitchen 

11 – 3pm weekly!

Enjoy delicious brunch items (jerk chicken and waffles with pecan-honey butter, anyone??) with free live music (and be sure to check out the current issue of WNC Magazine for a guide to AVL’s musical brunches!).

Dustin Spagnola @ Satellite Gallery in the Broadway Arts Disrict

Reception Friday @ 6; Satellite is open 11-5 pm Sunday

Satellite Gallery in the Broadway Arts District hosts Dustin Spagnola’s new show. The opening reception is Friday. Hit that and then cycle back Sunday after your brunch to take in this show and others in the BAD. 

Monday — the 4th of July!

City of Asheville 4th of July Celebration @ Pack Square Park

12-10 pm

The beloved Asheville tradition returns with a full day of family-friendly activities throughout the park and on the Roger McGuire Green. A fireworks show caps off your night at 9:30 pm. 

Salvage Station 4th of July Party 

Open at noon, music from 2-10 pm

Salvage Station is celebrating independence with free live music all week and through the weekend. On the 4th, enjoy the sweet sounds of Pleasure Chest, Crooked Beat Duo, and Liz Teague and Friends. Lawn games, food, drink, and party time by the river await.

BEAT LIFE @ the Mothlight

9 pm–free 4th of July show!!!!

ElectroChemical and BomBassic headline with support from Samuel Paradise, DJ Kutzu, and Musashi Xero. Come out after the fireworks have ended and keep the party going!

    Hey y’all, so many fun events! Check out the Intentional Swine & All Souls 4th of July BBQ also! Live music, beer, wine & plates of pork, ribs & veggies direct from the big ole’ grill. 2pm till the food runs out, in the field next to All Souls Pizza 175 Clingman, Monday July 4th!
