Proposed Blue Kudzu sake bottle designs.

Blue Kudzu’s $25K Kickstarter ended unsuccessfully–but only after attracting over $9K in fan support. The three sake entrepreneurs–Cat Ford-Coates, Mitch Fortune and Mary Taylor–are moving forward with their plan regardless, this time with a grassroots funding campaign on their own website:

Currently we are seeking funding to get Blue Kudzu off the ground. In an effort to secure our funding pledged from outside lenders we are launching a grassroots funding campaign. If you would like to help us bring fresh delicious sake to Asheville, there are several ways you can help.

1. Capital donation:

We initially used a kickstarter campaign (for more info click here) but we were unsuccessful, and are now back at square one. (If you were a kickstarter donor, and would still like to help, we will honor our initial rewards). Every $5,000 reached in donations we will ship out rewards based on our receipt of crowd funding via paypal (see reward levels on the right)

2. Capital Investment:

We are currently seeking investors and should you be interested in investing $10,000, or more, we would be happy to speak with you about your options for return (whether a percentage of ownership or just return on investment) please email [email protected]

3. Evangelization

Please help spread the word about us, and our goal. Please share our story via twitter, facebook, etc.

The sake brewery will be only the fourth of its kind in the U.S., according to the company’s owners.
