Hope Mrs. Sammons made it out OK…

A popular Asheville resort had to evacuated Wednesday morning after a ruptured gas line caused it to be shut down for a short period of time.,/p>
According to Kelley Webb of the Asheville Fire and Rescue, a contractor ruptured a four inch gas line during construction of the Grove Park Inn’s new addition, the Fitz Gerald. Jim Monastra of the Grove Park Inn and Spa said that approximately 90 people had to be evacuated from the Sammons Wing of the facility for just over two hours.

Shortly before 2 p.m. the gas leak had been contained and everyone had been allowed to return. Nobody during the incident.

Story here. And here. Etc.

Speaking of Mrs. Sammons, the owner of the Grove Park Inn: if you see fireworks this weekend emanating from the area of the inn, those would be in celebration of the 91st birthday of Sammons and not Bele Chere. Just so ya know…
