vortex_doughnuts_2013Word on the street is that Vortex Doughnuts is set to move into 32 Banks Ave. on Asheville’s hot South Slope. It’s still apparently not a done deal, but paperwork could be finalized soon.

The new owners of 32 Banks have started exterior and interior renovations. The idea, as I understand it, is to break up the massive building into several suites for others to upfit. Here’s the last I reported about 32 Banks.

Vortex Doughnuts is an exciting new start-up. Their homemade specialty doughnuts have been winning prizes and making mouths water for quite some time now. Earlier this year, Vortex won the Big Tasty, a competition held by Blue Ridge Food Ventures to honor, and support, the best new food start-up they could find.

More as I get it.

This is great! I’m in favor and will support any company that builds it’s brand first, before hastily opening like many businesses on the north slope.
