Press release here:

The WNC Alliance’s French Broad Riverkeeper is continuing work on the French Broad River Paddle Trail, which will connect campsites along more than 140 miles of river in Western North Carolina and east Tennessee.

The trail will give paddlers the option to camp along the entire course of the river.

To date, six campsites have been constructed. With your help, we can do some follow-up work and get the campsites ready for use this summer.

This month, we plan to work on two of our island campsites – which are an adventure to access, but lots of fun and worth the effort.

If you like to paddle, like to use power tools, or just want to help us get an island ready for campers, please join us from 10 a.m. -3 p.m. Friday, April 20 on Evan’s Island in Madison County, as part of WNCA’s Earth Day week events.

Please contact AmeriCorps Project Conserve Assistant Riverkeeper Nick Rose for more details by emailing [email protected].
