Welcome New WNCAP Executive Director!

We enthusiastically welcome Jeff Bachar as the new Executive Director of WNCAP, effective September 1.  Jeff has worked in the field of public health for more than twenty years, most recently as Program Director of Cherokee Choices, a community based organization focused on health promotion and disease prevention among the Cherokee people of WNC.  Jeff began his public health career in Chicago, where he helped form an HIV/AIDS prevention and peer education program.  He has worked and volunteered with a variety of AIDS service organizations — including serving as a WNCAP Board member from 2000 – 2006.  

As we welcome Jeff we say a final farewell to Ron Curran, outgoing Executive Director.  Ron will continue providing leadership to WNCAP through the end of August.  Please take a moment to view the moving tribute to Ron, in which he was named “Person of the Week” by WLOS ABC-TV for his commitment and contribution to the WNC community.
