It’s short notice, but if you’ve got time to attend a two-day local conference this weekend… We’re giving away two tickets, a $150 value.
A new, locally organized conference, Women’s Business Weekend lets Asheville’s women entrepreneurs share “knowledge, expertise and connection to kickstart both their businesses and their lives.”
An impressive list of presenters includes Asheville Scene editor Jess McCuan; local Google specialist Sarah Benoit; Executive Director of the Asheville Area Arts Council Kitty Love; Jessica Thomasin of Echo Mountain Recording Studio; French Broad Chocolate Lounge co-owner Jael Rattigan and chef Katie Button of Curate, plus other local notables.
The schedule is here. The conference happens at Mojo Coworking in Downtown Asheville.
To win, just be the first commenter to correctly tell us the name of the event’s keynote speaker, and two tickets are yours.
Only commenters who have not won anything from Ashvegas in the last 30 days are eligible to win. Please use your correct first and last name in your comment, so we know who to hold your tickets for.
Ticket contests on Ashvegas (USUALLY) happen at 9 a.m. and/or 3 p.m weekdays, though we reserve the right to run a contest anytime.

As we all know, women have unique setbacks and struggles to deal with when it comes to truly creating and enjoying their work as a female entrepreneur. We have children, are often under-valued and stereotyped in business, find ourselves competing with men on different levels (and with each other) and often forget to take the time to truly honor ourselves, re-energize our lives and grow our community and therefore our personal and professional lives!
We all constantly need to be re-charged and filled with new inspiration and energy! With all of the successful female entrepreneurs in this region, there is no reason that we shouldn’t be finding that in one another. By connecting and collaborating with other women in business, we cultivate the community that we always hoped we would be a part of.
We’re capable of BIG things, as most of you know, and that grows as we collaborate and share with one another. That is exactly what we want all of our participants to walk away with.
22 Presenters/entrepreneurs conducting intimate lectures followed by Q & A
8 Holistic practitioners and wellness providers offering free services and mini consultations
4 Business mentors and consultants available for free sessions
2 Live performances
This weekend will be a fun, heart-opening experience, where everyone is moving around, talking and sharing their needs, desires, successes and failures! There will be no stiff, boring PowerPoint presentations.
We will have heartfelt, open communication that will be the culmination of all in attendance. We’re crazy excited to connect with all of you!
