No plans for tonight yet? Good, because we’ve got tickets to give away.

If you’re a fan of the Magnetic Field and/or original theatre, win tickets now. To win, just be one of the first two to comment on this post. Two winners will each receive two tickets to the show.

Both sets of tix are for the 7:30 p.m. show, and the Mag Field is in the River Arts District near Glen Depot. Two tickets is a $30 value.

Brief Encounters: New Magnetic Voices 2012 is the Magnetic Theatre’s second annual evening of original short plays by writers new to the Magnetic stage, running June 30th through July 21st, with low-priced preview performances on June 28th & 29th.

This year’s production features 6 new plays, ranging from comedy to absurdism to realistic drama:

A Portrait of the Artist as a Middle Aged Woman, by Jerry Lieblich – a hilarious fantasy featuring the Latin Lover of your dreams

Just for the Halibut, by Chris O’Leary – an absurdist take on family and fish

What’s Black And White And Read All Over?, by Genevieve Packer – a peek into the complexes of members of the animal kingdom

The Dining, by Jim Julien – a comedy about a celebrity chef on the verge of a mental breakdown

Knit, Purl, by Mesha Maren – a sensitive family drama

I Had that Dream Again, by Mark Sullivan – a surprising comedy that walks the line between dreams and reality

More about the show here. Good luck!
