The Windsor
From loyal reader Nancy:

Hello Jason,
I’ve have noticed some changes at the Windsor Hotel in the last several weeks. All the sale signs have been removed from the windows, a new window has replaced a boarded-up space and energy inspectors have been seen on site. Could you find out if the property is still for sale or has been sold? If it has been sold, what are the plans for its use?

I’m checking it out. Anyone? The Windsor is located on Broadway in downtown.

Meantime, some background from one of my earlier Windsor posts back in 2009:

The old hotel rented cheap rooms, and a number of folks were kicked out after David Madera bought the place for $2.3 million and decided to renovate and turn the place into a hotel — the Asheville Hotel, to be specific. There was lots of activity in ’07, but I haven’t noticed anything lately.
