Here’s some of what’s going around this weekend, including the big benefit concert on Saturday at the Grey Eagle for the nonprofit Food Connection, which collects leftover food from local restaurants and gets it to the hungry and homeless.
All weekend long
The Southern Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournament will be held this weekend at the US Cellular Center. The tournament features 10 teams from 10 universities from six Southeastern states. The games will draws thousands downtown for a weekend of basketball, as well as community events that include a Downtown Dribble on Saturday for kids and a Sunday outdoor tailgate party and concert featuring Lyric and Joe Lasher Jr.
