Loyal reader syntax alerted us that WLOSer Victoria Dunklehead is a mommy again. The little one’s name is Lorelei Victoria.

Congratulations, Victoria! May she grow up to read the news just as well as moms.

Truth be told, Victoria, we need you back on the noon news. Thursday at noon, WLOSer Terrie Foster was sitting in for your and reported at the top of the news that presidential hopeful John Edwards’ wife had cancer again and that he was suspending his campaign for president. Terrie reported that as fact, plain and simple. She cited no sources.

This is something we know you’d never do – report something that was unsourced as complete fact.

Well, as you know, John Edwards and his wife Elizabeth held a press conference about 12:15 and said that yes, his wife did have cancer again, but his campaign for president was going to go on. Talk about egg on your pasty face, Terrie….

We tell you this Victoria because we know you would never stand for this reckless disregard for the truth. For information that’s reported fairly, with balance and context and not just rumor and speculation.

Please come back soon, Victoria. We miss you, dearly.

The networks reported the same thing, and Victoria would have too if she had been there. Terrie corrected the information later after going to the live press conference, just like CNN did and Brian Williams on NBC.

Yikes. I don’t know about all that.

Reading the news is not Victoria’s strength. She stumbles worse than Pat Simon, which is why I like to call the morning/noon news "The Stumbles and Mumbles Show."

And I’m sure she would have reported the exact same "fact" about Edwards since they just read what the producers write anyway. (I don’t think she would have referred to President JFK as "John F. K." like Terrie did today though)

I was totally shocked baby pictures only showed up on the Noon today rather than yesterday. The way she likes to show off family photos on-air during a NEWS show, I would have guessed there would have been a camera crew at the hospital for a live shot of the birth.

Then again, maybe everything you posted was rife with sarcasm.
