Very little news in the news

   I may be one of only a handful of people who have ever watched ALL of the WLOS Newscasts in any given day. It is obvious that News13 management does not do so very often. "LOCAL NEWS BROADCASTS" are cash cows…and there is often not enough news to fill the hours.

   Current LIVE LOCAL WEEK DAY NEWSCASTS on WLOS:

   5AM-7AM, NOON-1PM, 5PM-6:30PM, 11PM-11:35PM. They also have a 6:30PM 30 minute bit on ‘MY40’….(don’t most ‘news hounds’ watch national news then?) although why they don’t run it at 7PM….opposite ‘Vanna’s Vowels’ is beyond me.

   Sunday was S-L-O-W……and the 11PM newscast reflected that. I concur Ash… the coverage of Jane Goodall was good….but the decision to make the ‘Crop Walk’ the lead was a strange choice from the News 13 ‘brain-trust’. (Feeding The Hungry is a noble cause…but it did not rise to the level of being ‘LEAD STORY’ stuff).

   I suppose the amazing collection of advertising spots that retired legend Bob Caldwell is in these days… (aside to Bob – Why ‘Auto Advantage’?…do people really want a ‘low payment’ at the cost of $3500 net trade equity…up front…for 8 years???)… proves that Sinclair’s 401K must be pretty weak…and all of those familiar ‘talking heads’ aren’t getting rich while ‘ON-AIR’.

   I have been guilty of joining in the ‘wLOSERS’ mantra….but, to be extraordinarily fair…..we should refer to it as "Sinclair-LOSERS."

   Back to the Tammy and Pat on the 5:30 (new!) NEWS…..
