Note from loyal reader Jess, the publisher editor of VERVE:

VERVE Magazine has officially made it past the one-year mark. Their May/June “Adventure” issue is out around town and includes stories about local women who have had all sorts of adventures, from swimming with sharks to joining the circus to eating road kill on a regular basis.

I have to say that VERVE has become one of my must-reads in Asheville. Highlighting women only, the magazine’s profiles really make me feel like I know my neighbors, my fellow Ashevillians. The photography is stunning, the lay-out is clean. And I feel like I learn something with each issue. Finally, my mom is an avid reader, so that seals the deal — she’s tough to please.

Happy birthday Verve, and congratulations to Jess. I was truly honored to be included in the first edition, it was well done and I was quite happy with the write up. The publication is sleek and very sophisticated. May Verve and Jess have many, many more happy birthdays. Surviving this past year was quite the feat.
