Country music star Trent Tomlinson married a Tar Heel girl and now lives in our fair state. The Charlotte Observer has the story:
Country singer Trent Tomlinson married Lake Norman’s Jessica Lowman on March 22 in Catawba in front of about 300 guests. And although Tomlinson appears in photos at the reception wearing his signature bandana, he didn’t don it during the ceremony.
“I actually fixed my hair,” he said. “I got to the reception and all my groomsmen, my dad and her dad had bandanas on. So they gave me one to wear.”
The couple, who welcomed a daughter in January and honeymooned last week in Cabo San Lucas, exchanged their vows at Catawba’s Olivet Baptist Church.
“She was born and raised there and wanted to have the wedding in the church that she went to growing up,” the 32-year-old country rocker said in a phone interview Wednesday.
Tomlinson — whose hits include “One Wing in the Fire,” “Just Might Have Her Radio On,” and “Drunker Than Me” — met the Lake Norman-area native at Speed Street two years ago. “Then I ran into her again when I played Coyote Joe’s. We exchanged numbers and I pestered her until she went out with me.”
He proposed on a boat in the middle of Lake Norman in October of 2007. Lowman, a former model, graduated from Mars Hill College near Asheville, where she studied fashion design. Tomlinson said she hopes to eventually design her own clothing line and open a boutique in the Mooresville area.
Tomlinson, who grew up in Southern Missouri near the Arkansas line, is now a permanent resident of North Carolina.
I love this man and his music. I first seen him play at a bar in Chicago and have loved his music ever since then.

I have no interest in this country music man, but I say this:
Ashvegas, you are my friend. Thank you, oh, thank you, thank you. Thank you for that story.
