Tolliver’s Crossing Irish Pub will open Tuesday. That’s the word from guys at West Asheville’s newest bar this afternoon as we cruised by. Hurrah! A new bar to celebrate! And just before Christmas!

Here’s what the Beer Guy said about Tolliver’s a couple of months ago:

The idea: An Irish pub in West Asheville featuring all the sports you can handle coupled with signature emerald dishes like shepherd’s pie and fish and chips. “No matter where I go, Atlanta, Charlotte, wherever, I always look for the nearest Irish pub,” said owner Chuck Toliver Brown, who is building Tolilver’s Crossing on the fast-growing west side of town.

“An Irish pub always has an atmosphere I like the best. We don’t plan on having live music, and there are only two other things I’d like to keep out: politics and religion.”

For the neighborhood: Brown says Toliver’s will be “pouring friendship one pint at a time.”

Address: 733 Haywood Road (corner of Brevard and Haywood roads, formerly home of the Ideal Market).

Hours: 11:30 a.m.-1a.m. Monday-Sunday except Wednesday (closed mid-week for the first few months).

Contact: 505-2129.

So there you have it. Be there Tuesday. Here’s Tolliver’s Myspace page.

Tolliver’s Crossing is my new favorite place in Western NC! Chuck and Landon have created a great environment with great food and drinks. Check out TC as soon as you get a chance!
