The Ellington: Approved 6-1

After the flap over the birds, Asheville City Council voted 6-1 to approve the original design of the Ellington, which was the taller, skinnier design. The 23-story design.

Councilman Bryan Freeborn, clearly feeling some election heat, voted against the Ellington. Will this help him or hurt him? We’ll have to watch and see. Freeborn did not state his opposition – he only asked a few questions about the project.

Ashvegas, welcome a new signature building to the skyline. Say Bill, think you can add the Ellington in to the banner here?

I had been playing with making a "new" AshVegas skyline photoshop already.
It is in the works.

I doubt it will make much of a difference. The pro ellington crowd does not seem like the pro Freeborn type.
