TEDx Next Generation Asheville is a new event this year being held as part of the big TEDxAsheville event on Aug. 28 and 29 at the Orange Peel. The event is a local version of the TED conference held each year in California, in which presenters have a few minutes to talk about the idea they’re most passionate about.

TEDx Next Generation Asheville focuses on the ideas of young people, and there will be 11 presenters from 11 to 19 years old, and one presenter who is 23. The event will also include lots of entertainment, including music and dance.

In addition to all that, TEDx Next Generation Asheville has a great side-project called the My Idea Worth Spreading photodocumentary project. The photo above is part of that project. Here’s more:

My Idea Worth Spreading (MIWS) is a photodocumentary project where we ask you to visualize one of your very own ideas. What is an idea that you think could make a difference in our world? What is something that you think about that you wish more people thought about? What is an idea that you would like to see spread to more people?

When you have realized your brilliant answer, we want to hear it. Write it boldly on a sheet of paper and take a picture – creative license eagerly encouraged! Then email your picture to
[email protected]

Know any young people with great ideas? Write it down, snap their photo and send it in. Check out TEDxNGA’s photo project flickr page here.
