A sculpture from the River Sculpture exhibit in Woodfin. I hope zen doesn’t mind me using one of his photos to show what was taken. Story from the Citizen-Times:

Artist Hayden Wilson on Friday reported the theft of his sculpture at the RiverSculpture Festival, which closes Monday.

The work “Ball & Chain,” is made of steel and cast iron, retails for $1,500 and is worth about $4 in scrap metal, said Robert Winkler, the festival’s co-founder and director. He said he last saw the sculpture, at Reynolds Village with the other pieces in the festival, on Dec. 27.

Hopefully it will be a public service so folks will know what to look for.

My wife and I visited the "River" sculpture show. Gotta say, the art was good, the location left much to be desired.

It looks like Reynolds Mountain just wanted to co-op the show to show how much of a good citizen they were to the community.

Here’s to hoping it returns to the river.

Also, if the tree was not harmed in the production of this crime, I’ll bet it’s feeling much more free at this point.

Not surprising given that this year’s River Sculpture was so dismal.

The site in Woodfin was terrible and could just not compete with the city park in West Asheville.

Most of the sculptures there looked like junk, so perhaps the offender thought he was at the nearby landfill.

I could actually use one of those for my dungeon.
