Wreck reconstructed
State troopers shut down part of Interstate 40 Thursday night to reconstruct a wreck taht left little Kennedy Frye dead.

Early police reports indicate that the wreck was caused by a McDowell County Sheriff’s Department deputy, who was speeding to a call. The cruiser and two other cars were involved. Witnesses are saying that the deputy didn’t have any emergency lights on.

Nobody knows for sure. Meantime, Frye’s other family members injured in the wreck continue to improve.

Catching parking violators
The city of Ashvegas wants your help in catching people who park illegally in handicapped parking spaces. The city will train you and give the authority to hand out tickets, and you’ll work the mall and shopping centers.

Another online predator arrested
Buncombe County sheriff’s deputies posing online as a 15-year-old girl ready for sex lured a Salisbury man to Asheville. The cops arrested him.

Transylvania County DSS sued
A man is suing Transylvania County DSS in federal court. He alleges that his daughter, who was in foster care, was sexually abused and by the foster father, who also gave her alcohol and took her to have her genitals pierced.

The county DSS denies it all.

Apartments are hard to come by
WLOSer Kassandra “Special K” Pride says that apartments in Ashvegas are hard to come by because several are being turned into condos.

Pride talked to a hawt blonde renter who said she had a hard time finding a place. And Pride talked to somebody at a complex who said they’re full and they have a waiting list.

Lame sweeps stunt of the week
WLOSer Jay Seltzerwater had the lame sweeps story of the day with his “Kitchen Confidential” report. He found a health inspector and had the inspector check a homeowner’s kitchen to see if it was as clean as a restaurant’s kitchen.

The kitchen got a 97.5, while the homeowner got a 91. That’s because the homeowner had a wet rag on the sink that could hold a lot of germs. And because she stored stuff in her fridge that could leak onto stuff below it. And because she stuck her kitchen utentsils on the counter with the handles down, so if you grabbed it, you’d put your hands on the part of the utensil that touches food.

Did we say “lame”?

The accident report says the officer was going 120mph without lights or siren.

That’s odd about the apartment "shortage" Progress has a whole complex with only 40% occupancy. It is going broke and the city is running it, and considering buying it.

Or do we only mean apartments which nice, rich, hawt mostly white people would want to rent?
