Note: This story has been updated. A previous version of this story included incorrect information about the buyer of the property.

Two parcels along Coxe Avenue on the South Slope of Asheville sold recently for a total of $2.1 million.

The parcels at 135 Coxe Ave. and 137 Coxe Ave. sold for $1.25 million and $850,000 respectively. The property is the former home of the Mike Byer auto and truck repair shop. The auto shop has moved to Sweeten Creek Road.

The buyer is South Slope Properties LLC. The registered agent for that company is another company called WASLAW LLC based in New Bern, N.C. The registered agent for that company is J. Troy Smith Jr. of Ward and Smith law firm in New Bern.

There’s no word on plans for any development on the two parcels, but that section of Coxe Avenue has seen significant growth and development over the last several years. A new apartment building opened a couple of years ago, as did Wicked Weed Brewing’s Funkatorium tasting room and sour beer operation. There’s a new gin distillery and craft cocktail bar under construction, and at the bottom of the hill at the intersection with Southside Avenue, the TakoSushi restaurant opened last year.
