Loyal reader Brant delivers the heads-up – Pat Simon no longer works for WLOS. Looks like Simon has moved on to work for a station in Shreveport. As you can see, he has lots of Louisana connections:

Pat Simon co-anchors KSLA News 12 weekdays at 5, 6 and 10pm.

He grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. Pat is a proud LSU graduate and worked the Baton Rouge airwaves for 15 years. Eight years were spent in radio at WJBO and 7 years at our sister station WAFB-TV where he co-anchored the morning and noon newscasts. He was been twice named an Associated Press Award Winner and received an Emmy nomination. Before coming to KSLA he was the co-anchor for the 5:30 and 6 o’clock evening news for WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina.

In his spare time, Pat enjoys jogging, golfing, and is a sailing enthusiast. He loves to spend time with his family including his wife and three children.

Simon never really caught on as a WLOSer. His stories were weakly reported, and I know that he really infuriated some folks with his reportorial tactics. So long, Simon.

I had the pleasure to meet Major Simon during his short stay in North Carolina. I am impressed with hi professionalalism and am greatful to be able to have the chance for him to command me during a video project for the National Guard.

    Good Luck Major Simon

I am in the Asheville, NC television market and want to express how much we miss Pat Simon as an Anchor and Reporter in the Asheville market. Our loss is your gain.
