Sex on the beach, cont.
WLOSer Carolyn “Little Red” Ryan had the scoop Thursday night – an interview with the 54-year-old woman charged by police for having sex in public with her 57-year-old lover on a Myrtle Beach hotel balcony for all to see, like a scene from www.fulltube.xxx.
Carolyn, looking a little greasy under the Kleigs, said the woman agreed to talk exclusively with WLOS if they hid her identity. So Carolyn had the woman dressed up like a frackin’ Jedi warrior under two cloaks and a throw rug. Why hide her identity? She’s charged with a crime. It’s public record. Not only that, but half a hotel saw her attempt to get a feature spot on hd sex video xxx. Pointless endeavour? We may have to get the public records ourselves just to get the names. Hmmm. Anybody know anybody over at the Smoking Gun?
Anyway, the woman said there was never any wild-crazy-monkey-butt-lovin’ going on in public ever. She said “they have no evidence of anything like that.”
But the cops who showed up at the Breakers Resort in Myrtle Beach talked to three or four witnesses, who said they saw the woman giving the man a blowjob, then taking it from behind, all on a second or third floor balcony. There was a sheet placed over the balcony railing at one time, but it fell down, according to the police report. The cops also said the couple was not cooperative and had a bottle or two of open clear liquor in their room. According to the police report, the man used Cialis to get his three-hour hard on and the couple told police they were in love.
In Carolyn’s interview, the woman just straight-up denied it all. Carolyn said the woman is “devastated” that the incident is now national news. The woman said the incident has been “taken way beyond” what it really was.
Getting high in Highlands?
The town planner in Highlands, Larry Gantenbein, 60, and his 30-something son, were arrested down in Louisana and chargd with having 369 pounds of marijuana in their possession. The two were driving a wrecker that had a car loaded on it. Police stopped them for an illegal lane change, then got suspicious. A drug dog found the dope.
Highlands officials fired Gantenbein from his job on Tuesday. Everybody up in Highlands said they were shocked by the incident. And also this week, N.C. Dept. of Revenue agents raided Gantenbein’s son’s tire shop, saying he owed some $69,000 in unpaid taxes.
Coverage of Shuler
WLOSers covered U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler’s recent actions in a curious way on Thursday. First, the sent Russ “Beefcake” Bowen out to a rally organized by Moveon.org supporting Shuler for saying Bush’s plan on the Iraq war was wrong. Some 90 people with signs like “Stop the Surge” gathered at Shuler’s office on Biltmore Avenue in Ashvegas. Russ also talked to Chuck Hill, a conservative talk radio guy on WHKP radio who said Bush’s plan was solid.
But WLOSers pretty much blew off covering Shuler’s only action of the day – a vote against more federal funding of stem cell research. WLOSers said there was a vote in the House, and that the bill passed, but it didn’t pass with enough votes to override a presidential veto. WLOSers said supporters believe research on cells from human embryos can help find amazing cures for deadly diseases. But WLOSers said the White House believes that research encourages the destruction of human life.
Then WLOSers added that “Shuler did not support the bill.”
Guess Shuler is still new enough that the local TV station is giving him a pass on this one.
Office move?
Some employees who work in a state Division of Facility Services office on Hendersonville Road say the state could save a lot of rent money by moving the offices to some place where the state owns the property, like the Black Mountain Center. Linda Shook, an employee, said that’s what should happen, and they’re asking local legislators to help them.
Mediacom vs. Sinclair
WLOSers said that people say they’re left in the dark now that WLOS is off the air on Mediacom’s cable systems in Western North Carolina. Police and deputies are also concerned about losing information about crime and missing person searches, WLOSers said.
Listen people – we live in the 21st century. We have newspapers and radio stations and a little something called the Internet. Check into it.
Dog lover or pet collector?
WLOSers followed up on their story yesterday about the Candler couple who had 56 Australian terriers in their home and in a shed out back. Police, acting on a tip, went to the home on Wednesday and seized all the animals.
On Thursday, Hugh Cole told WLOS that the dogs were show dogs and were not neglected. He said the cops descended upon his home “like the Gestapo.”
But the cops, and an animal activist who helped them, said the house stank. They said there was one water bowl outside, and it was green. They said dogs weren’t vaccinated and had matted hair and there were pregnant dogs out in the cold.
WLOSers said Cole’s wife was charged with animal neglect in another state a few years ago, but had the charges dropped after she agreed to give up most of her animals. Hugh Cole told WLOSers that he had been so harrassed that he would not ask for his dogs back.
Body found, 200 years later
A Franklin construction crew found lower leg bones on a Sonic construction site along U.S. 441. The bones were more than 200 years old, according to WLOSers.
Woman identified
WLOSers said the 45-year-old woman hit and killed while walking along Old U.S. 19/23 near Candler was Kay Moore of Candler. Police said she was wearing dark clothes and may have been drinking at the time of the wreck, WLOSers said.
No bus ride for you
Some parents who live out in Beaverdam and along Spook’s Branch Road are pissed off that Ashvegas City Schools discontinued their bus route. Now the parents of the 8 kids who actually rode the bus will have to take their kids in to Dickson Elementary.
Superintendent Robert Logan said there just weren’t enough riders on bus 406 to make it cost effective. So they sent a letter Jan. 9 saying that service would end Jan. 10. WLOSers talked to one parent who was really pissed.
Assault with a vegetable
Ashvegas police charged an 18-year-old with hitting another person in the head with a large onion. No lie. We need to get this police report too.
Meadows Apartments fire
The fire that destroyed one apartment and damaged nine others in one building of the Meadows Apartments Complex on Wednesday night was started by a 6-year-old playing with matches, according to arson investigator Buddy Thompson.
Thompson told WLOSers that the kid owned up to it when he talked to him. Thompson said to keep matches and guns out of the hands of little kids.
In other news we don’t care about…
John “Punnyman” Le talked to somebody who turned a white grape red or something and it getting a lot of attention for it… Democrats will hold their national convention in Denver in 2008.
A thumper by any other name is still a thumper…..even if that name is Democrat.
I’ve been expecting this from the start but it happened sooner than I thought it would. At least he’s against the war escalation and supported the other Dem legislation. What would Taylor have done?
thanks Screwy.
regarding Shuler, yes, i’ve been reading. "vitriol" might be a little over the top – the comments appear to be a mixed bag, and the dissenters appear pretty polite. including you. you had an insightful comment. why didn’t you blog that on your scrutiny hooligans site?
"Heath? There’s a Ms. Pelosi for you on the phone. She sounds really pissed about something!"
Ash,
syntax has the police report linked at his blog.
Also, regarding Shuler – have you been reading the comments at his blog? I thought they might moderate the comments to death, but there’s a surprising amount of vitriol being aired. Check it out.
Can we just talk about how disappointed I am in Heathbar? What an idiot.
