There’s a bar explosion happening in West Ashvegas, and this weekend will launch another new hot spot. The Rocket Club is set to open at 401 Haywood Road on Friday, one weekend in advance of a big music festival, POPAsheville.

The Beer Guy writes about the Rocket Club here. Here’s a snippet:

The venue’s owners, who had hoped to open last September, have acquired their permits and liquor license and will open the doors at 2 p.m. Friday, said Kevin Nessle, who is operating the venue with his partner Ken Klehm.
Regular hours will be 2 p.m.-2 a.m. daily, with Bloody Marys served starting at noon Sundays, he said. Along with a full bar, the Rocket Club will feature a dozen beers on tap and around 50 in bottles, he said.
